Speak your mind. Get clean text.

Hold a key anywhere on your Mac, say what you mean, and let go. The words land where your cursor is — already tidied up. Your voice is transcribed on the machine in front of you and never uploaded.

Why it's different

Dictation that doesn't phone home

Most voice tools stream your microphone to a server. Voooxly runs the speech model on your Mac, so the only thing that leaves your machine is nothing at all.

On-device Whisper runs locally through Metal. Works on a plane, in a café, with the Wi-Fi off. 0 bytes uploaded
Fast From the moment you release the key to text on screen — including the cleanup pass. ~1 second
Anywhere Slack, Mail, your editor, a form in the browser. If you can type in it, you can talk to it. Any app
Yours Free and open source. Bring your own AI for the cleanup step, or skip it and get the raw transcript. No account
How it works

Three steps, then it's muscle memory

Hold

Press and hold the right key. A small indicator tells you Voooxly is listening.

Speak

Say it how you'd say it out loud. Trail off, correct yourself, change your mind — that's the point.

Let go

The finished text appears wherever your cursor was. Nothing to copy, nothing to paste.

Local vs cloud

Local by design — not a promise, an architecture

Cloud dictation asks you to trust a privacy policy. Voooxly removes the question: the audio pipeline simply has nowhere to send your voice.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Is it really free?

Yes. No account, no trial, no subscription. You bring your own AI for text cleanup — a local Ollama or an API key — or use none at all: raw transcription works out of the box.

Which Macs does it run on?

Apple Silicon (M1 or later) on macOS 13+. Intel Macs aren't supported.

Where does my voice go?

Nowhere. Audio is transcribed on your Mac by a local Whisper model. If you connect a cloud AI for cleanup, only the text is sent — never audio.

Do I need Ollama or an API key?

No. Without any AI, Voooxly pastes the raw transcription — already well punctuated. With one, it also tidies grammar and formatting according to the mode you're in.

Does it work offline?

Yes — transcription is fully local. Only optional cloud cleanup and update checks need a connection.

What languages does it support?

Whisper large-v3-turbo understands ~99 languages, strongest in English and Spanish. Voooxly follows your system language automatically.

How do updates work?

The app checks a version file at launch and shows "Update available" in the menu bar. Download the new DMG, replace the app, done.
